Job Summary:
in conjunction with payroll processing, this position assists with various Human Resources activities and performs all functions necessary to process employee records, benefits and payrolls including maintaining and creating related reports and records, processing monthly benefit invoices, verifying tax and voluntary deduction reports processing involuntary deductions such as levies, child supports and garnishments, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports for management.
Responsibility for this position also includes:
1.All employee information is handled in a sensitive and confidential manner
2.Maintain and track COBRA and FMLA
3.Maintain all benefit information
4.Ensures the timely and accurate preparation and transmission of payrolls
5.Send and process all new hire paperwork and terminations
6.Ensures the earnings of the staff are accurate
7.Track employee attendance violations
8.Maintains a good relationship with all employees
9.Provides back-up support and / or coverage for Administrative Assistant
Education and Experience:
1.Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Accounting or equivalent mix of training and experience in Payroll, Human Resources and Accounting.
2.Two years minimum payroll processing experience
3.MUST be proficient in ADP payroll, EZLabor Time Keeper and Report Smith report writing
4.Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, and Access
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•Must possess and demonstrate the necessary discretion in dealing with confidential information, has effective communication skills, initiative, tact, diplomacy, and dependability in performing all duties of the position.
•Must have working knowledge of Accounting principals and systems.
•Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, department heads, as well as interact in various environments and situations.
•Knowledge of employment and payroll regulatory laws.
•Experience with MAS200 Accounting software is a plus.
•Must have excellent written & verbal communication skills, effective problem solving skills.
•Must have the ability to prioritize, manage time and orchestrate multiple tasks, effectively work independently or in a team environment, and maintain confidentiality.
•Must have strong aptitude for detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
•Must be physically and mentally capable of performing all essential duties required of the position.
•Must be able to read and write English.
•Must possess good customer service skills.
•Must be self-starter and well-motivated individual who can work independently with little or no supervision.
•Must have good judgment and be able to make independent decisions.
•Must be able to follow directions with accuracy and complete assignments in a timely fashion.
•Must be eligible to work in the United States.
