||Jewish Vocational Service seeks a part-time Math Teacher to provide instruction in Math to a diverse classroom of young adults, single parents, immigrants, disenfranchised adults, and others who have been unsuccessful in the formal education system. Duties include planning lessons, monitoring and assessing student progress on an ongoing basis, classroom facilitation, creating Individual Learning Plans with students, collecting all required assignments, and collecting, recording, and reporting all necessary information related to students in a timely manner. This position will focus on Algebra, Geometry and GED Math. We employ an activity based approach and focus on project based learning and portfolio completion. This position is part-time, 10 hours per week. Schedule would be Tuesday 11:15 am to 6:45 pm, and Thursday 11:30 am to 2:00 pm.
Two years of related instructional experience with adult learners
Ability to work as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
BA/BS in Education or other relevant field, or equivalent experience
